Folded Music is pleased to announce ‘Wake’ - the first single of a forthcoming EP by Manchester-based beat-maker Catch92.

The producer’s work alongside Aviary Bridge Records has brought early career success with his debut album 'Capricious' gaining several BBC Introducing spins, hitting multiple Spotify editorial playlists including 'Lofi Beats’ and ‘Jazz Vibes’ all the while winning him a host of new fans.


His emotive jazzy beats caught the ear of Folded Music boss Asta Hiroki and led to the first Catch92 national radio play in 2020 in Hiroki's 'Introspective Block Party guest mix' for Huey Morgan on BBC 6Music.

The forthcoming EP titled ‘Wander’ draws influence from a Lewis Carroll literary classic, and straight from the first lines of 'Wake' a new experimental psychedelic influence is apparent in Catch92’s work. Playing with an ambient style rather than his usual MO of hip hop the track stars a gorgeous hypnotic synth line over creative sound design and lush delicate strings.

It’s an unexpected foray into uncharted sonic waters and a wonderful taste of things to expect from the EP.


In his own words Catch92 shines a light on how the inspiration came about:


"I bought 'Alice's Adventures In Wonderland' soundtrack on vinyl from SK1 Records for my girlfriend as it is one of her favourite movies, at the time the owner (Synkro) said it’s full of great samples and it took me far too long to check it out, but thanks for the tip off!"
